Fear

The stony gargoyle of fear,
Creeps into our hearts and souls,
Perched on the roof of our hearts,
Destroying all hope of our goals.

When fear is flying around us,
The leathery wings block out,
The faintest rays of sunlight,
Bringing the blackest of doubt.

But the gargoyle only sits at the edge,
Its shadow passing right through,
That’s when fear has consumed you
Then there is nothing to do.
